things getting done

Two of the cabinet doors have been painted & put back up in the kitchen, and another six are down and in various states of painted-ness. To what do I owe this surge of productivity?
SCHOOL'S OUT!

The last of the finals were yesterday: A big fat test in history and absolutely nothing in choir. We played Spoons with sharpies to entertain ourselves. Today, my duties are limited to singing at graduation with the rest of the choir. I plan to escape early. I am done with this school year. Done, done, done.
Other things are not done. The apricot tree, for example, is just starting to produce pound after pound of sweet, ripe apricots. This is a problem, because I'm leaving for Utah on Monday ((Watch out, Stephalumpagus, here I come!)) and all those apricots are going to be on the ground in various stages of ferment when I get back.
We've been madly picking and canning as many of them as we can, but I decided that there is only one right thing to do with a basket of fresh apricots.
Cobbler. O! how I love an apricot cobbler right out of the oven.

[Norma's Cobbler]
Fill a pan with as many apricots as you can. Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg over them.
Cover them with topping. Stick the cobbler in the oven until the topping is golden brown. Try not to eat the whole thing in one sitting.

[Topping]
1.
Mix together:
1 egg
1/2 C flour
1/2 C sugar
2 T butter
3/4 t baking powder
